Therapy Modalities
I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities and work creatively and collaboratively to find the approach that best supports your individual needs. Below are some of the primary tools I use in treatment:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
EMDR is an evidence-based treatment designed to help process and heal past trauma. It works by assisting the brain in becoming “unstuck” from difficult experiences that were not fully processed at the time they occurred. When traumatic memories remain unprocessed, it can feel as though we are reliving those experiences in the present. EMDR helps resolve these disruptions, allowing for emotional healing and a sense of resolution.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
DBT is an evidence-based modality that provides practical skills for managing emotions, navigating relationships, and tolerating distress. At its core, DBT emphasizes mindfulness—the practice of training the mind to focus on the present moment. In a world where our attention is constantly divided, mindfulness helps slow down racing thoughts, improve focus, and foster greater awareness. These foundational skills support personal growth and can enhance daily life, particularly for those who may have missed out on learning these tools during earlier stages of development.
LI (Lifespan Integration)
Lifespan Integration is a gentle, yet powerful therapy rooted in EMDR principles. It supports the healing of past trauma, fosters a stronger sense of self, and helps integrate life experiences into a cohesive narrative. LI works by guiding clients through a timeline of their life, allowing for the safe processing of memories without re-traumatization. It is especially effective for addressing early attachment wounds and building inner resilience.
LENS Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is great addition to psychotherapy as it helps to integrate neural connections thus deepening emotional processing. See more here.
Therapy is offered in person or online.
